How do you run a business for a phone repair store if you have just begun to do this business?
Now more and more people open phone repair stores all over the world. Ten years ago, running a phone repair store seemed a little difficult. But now, it looks easier because you can check more information about repair technology and spare parts. If you are a newbie to this business, maybe you start it like this as below：
First, you need to buy some types of equipment, such as a soldering iron, air gun, heating station, some tweezers, and some screwdrivers. I suggest you prepare one set of repairing screens, including an OCA laminating machine, bubble removing machine, etc. Maybe you don’t repair screens, but you need to have one and sometimes you can use it.
For running the business, the most important is can earn money. At first, repairing a motherboard is not a good idea if you didn’t repair the motherboard before. So, for many people, replacing screens, cameras, and docks is easy for them. Most customers run businesses like this. They buy screens and spare parts from China, some from us, some from other suppliers, and then just replace screens and small spare parts. In this way, you can earn 80% of the profits. The other 20% of profits are for motherboard repair, which is hard to earn. So they don’t repair motherboards themselves. They send them to other stores to do it and earn a little.
Second, they collect broken screens with good inner LCD or OLED in the local market at a low price and then send them to us to refurbish them in China. You can earn a lot with expensive screens like the iPhone and Samsung. Sometimes they also sell them to China. Just check the profit and see which way has more profit.
Third, buy glass protectors and phone covers from China and sell them in your store. Why buy them from China? Because in China the prices are low but the quality is good, and the types of them are very very many. One of our customers started from a small store and after some years he opened more than 20 stores in his country, and 40% of the profit is from back cover protestors and glass protectors.
Fourth, if you are interested in used phones, like iPhones, you can try to do it. Some buy iPhones from China and sell them in local markets. Or consider buying used phones from the local market and selling them to China if you have local sources like cooperation with Apple or Samsung services centers. You need to check the market situation and see if there is profit for you.
Fifth, after you run the business for some months or some years, you can consider learning how to repair the motherboard. Now technology for repairing motherboards is not difficult. There are many courses free on YouTube or other websites. You can go to China to learn how to fit it. There are some good schools for your start.
There are three parts: manual operation for removing and soldering the resistor, capacitor, IC, etc.; how to read the circuit diagram and point map and understand them; and how to test and judge the points of failure. It may need some days/month for you to learn them well. But we can start from an easy issue like a small resistor or easy IC, and don’t consider the CPU at the beginning.
